2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılının birinci Öğrenci Meclisi Proje Toplantısı 13 Kasım Çarşamba günü gerçekleştirildi. Öğrenci Meclis Başkanı Çağan Abbasoğlu’nun açılış konuşması ile başlayan toplantıda 2. sınıflardan 8. sınıflara kadar tüm sınıf temsilcileri sınıflarını temsilen paylaşımlarda bulundular. Toplantı okul meclis başkanının dilek ve temennileri ile son buldu. THE STUDENT COUNCIL PROJECT MEETING The first Student Council Project Meeting of the 2019-2020 academic year was held on Wednesday, November 13. The meeting started with the opening speech of Çağan Abbasoğlu, the President of the School Council Project. All class representatives from grades 2 to 8 attended the meeting and shared their class’ s needs and problems. Finally, the meeting ended with the wishes and regards of The President of the School Council. 

On 12 November 2019, Grade 7 students participated in an intriguing and intellectually stimulating Balloon Debate. Each student chose one historical figure or pop culture icon, did some research and participated in a high-stakes scenario for all of us to follow, enjoy and learn. A balloon debate is a scenario in which the students, posing as cultural figures, are on a sinking hot air balloon, and the only way to keep the balloon from falling is by throwing someone out. Using high-level spoken English skills, each student who participated had to convince the jury and the audience why their chosen character should not be thrown off the balloon. The students used the character’s accomplishments, biographies and skills. The students impersonated people from all kinds of fields, time periods and skills; we learned all about the lives and thoughts of entertainers like Keanu Reeves and Walt Disney, inventors like Madam Curie and great minds like Steve Jobs, Pablo Picasso and Queen Victoria. We all learned a lot from this activity, and it shows just how clever and convincing our students can be while thinking on their feet in a high-stakes situation like a balloon debate!

Ulu Önder Atatürk’ü Anma etkinlikleri kapsamında fen bilimleri zümresinin düzenlediği 6.sınıflar arası ‘ 3 Resim 1 Fen ’ yarışması Sacit Öncel Salonu’nda gerçekleşti. Öğrencilerimiz bu dönem öğrendikleri konulardan oluşturulan soruları cevaplarken son soruda Atatürk fotoğrafına verdikleri kalp cevabı ile “Atam Kalbimizdesin” mesajını verdiler. Öğrencilerimizi kutluyor ve Atam’ızı saygıyla anıyoruz.  IN OUR HEART, IN OUR MIND Within the scope of the Commemoration activities of the Great Leader Atatürk, Grade 6 students had a competition, named “3 picture 1 science”, organized by the science department which took place in Sacit Öncel Hall. We congratulate our students and commemorate our Great Leader.

Bugün Rehberlik Servisi tarafından 7. Sınıf öğrencilerimize yönelik ‘’Başarının Sifresi’’ adlı seminer gerçekleştirilmiştir. Seminerde öğrencilerimize verimli ders çalışma teknikleri, ders çalışırken dikkat edilmesi gerekenler, zaman yönetimi, hedef belirleme konularında bilgi verilmiştir. 7. ve 8. sınıflar Müdür Yardımcısı da çalışmaya katılarak sınavlar ile ilgili önemli stratejiler üzerinde durmuş, sınavda dikkat edilmesi gerekenler hakkında öğrencilere bilgi ve tecrübelerini sunmuştur. Öğrenciler çalışma süresince notlarını alarak etkin katılım göstermişlerdir. KEY TO SUCCESS STUDENT SEMİNAR Today, the seminar named as “Key to Success” was held by the Guidance Service for 7th grade students. In this seminar, our students were informed about efficient study techniques, things to pay attention while studying, time management and goal setting. The 7th and 8th Grade Assistant Director also participated in the seminar and focused on important strategies related to exams and shared his knowledge and experience about the things to be considered in exams with the students. The students participated in the seminar actively. 

On Saturday 2nd November 2019, Grade 1 and 2 English teachers attended a Storytelling Workshop led by Dr Okan Önalan.  Teachers discussed the significance of Storytelling in modern day society and how best to use Storytelling as an effective classroom tool at all ages. 

30.10.2019’da Lösemili Çocuklar Vakfı (LÖSEV) tarafından, “LÖSEV İncileri Projesi” kapsamında okulumuz öğrencilerine farkındalık semineri yapılmıştır. Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı ve LÖSEV işbirliğiyle geliştirilen bu eğitici projenin (LÖSEV İncileri) amacı; lösemi, kanser hastalıklarından korunma yolları, lösemili çocuklara doğru yaklaşım ve yardımlaşma konuları üzerine ilk ve ortaokul öğrencilerinde farkındalık yaratmaktır. 2-8 Kasım Lösemili Çocuklar Haftası yaklaşırken, “Lösemili çocuklarımıza yapılacak en büyük iyilik önce LÖSEV’i yakından tanımaktır.” diyerek LÖSEV Sivil Toplum Kuruluşunu öğrencilerimizin daha yakından tanımasını da amaçladığımız bu eğitici etkinliğe öğrencilerimiz yoğun ilgi göstermiştir. “PEARLS OF LÖSEV PROJECT” SEMINAR On 30.10.2019, awareness seminar was held by the Children with Leukemia Foundation (LÖSEV) with the grade 6 and 7 students within the scope of the Pearls of LÖSEV Project. This educational project (The Pearls of LÖSEV), developed in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and LÖSEV, aims to raise awareness among primary and secondary school students about leukemia, ways to prevent cancer diseases, provide a correct approach to children with leukemia and helping these children. As the week for children with leukemia is approaching, “The greatest favor to be done to our children with leukemia is to know LÖSEV closely first". Our students have shown great interest in this educational activity which we aimed to get to know the LÖSEV Civil Society Organization more closely.
