In the Sacit ÖNCEL Honor Award Competition—organized by FMV Işık High School Class of 1963 graduate Prof. Dr. Turan DURGUNOĞLU and his legal heirs to commemorate and preserve the legacy of the late Sacit ÖNCEL, a Biology Teacher, Principal of Işık High School, and Member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees who educated him and many other students—FMV Işık High School 12th-grade student Liza SARI has been awarded first place following the evaluations of the jury members. Following the evaluation by the jury members in the field of natural sciences—for the award established by Prof. Dr. Celâl Şengör (a student at Işık Schools from 1966 to 1969) in honor of Nuriye Güneyi, who taught at Işık High School between 1967 and 1979 and played a pivotal role in guiding him to become a geologist and one of Turkey's leading scientists—FMV Işık High School 11th-grade student Azra İnci ÖZKAN has been awarded first place among 11th-grade students.
