About
What is the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO)?Established in Switzerland in 1968, the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) is recognized as a leading authority in international education. Today, it operates in over 160 countries and more than 6,000 schools, serving upwards of one million students who have earned the IB Diploma. The IBO’s primary objective is to prepare students for higher education by fostering the development of rigorous intellectual capacity and essential social competencies. It aims to cultivate inquiring, knowledgeable, and principled young individuals who are committed to contributing to a more peaceful and sustainable world. This educational philosophy closely aligns with the mission and vision of our high schools. Upon successful completion of the two-year Diploma Programme and the associated externally assessed international examinations, students are awarded an internationally recognized qualification. The IB Diploma is accepted by more than 1,000 universities across over 150 countries worldwide.
What Does the IB Diploma Programme Curriculum Include?
Students are required to select one subject from each of the six subject groups. At least three of these subjects must be taken at Higher Level (HL).
In addition, all students are required to complete the core components of the programme: the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course, the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) requirements, and the Extended Essay (EE), which is an independent, research-based academic paper written in a subject area of the student’s choice.
What Are the Available Subject Groups?

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)
Extended Essay (EE)
What Are the Core Subjects?
Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
Theory of Knowledge (TOK) encourages students to think critically about different areas of knowledge, sources of knowledge, and ways of knowing, enabling them to question the nature, significance, and role of knowledge.
The aim is to support students in developing an understanding of the complex nature of knowledge and knowing, and to cultivate reflective, responsible thinkers who are able to engage with a globalized world free from prejudice and undue subjectivity.
Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)
CAS embodies the principle of experiential learning. Conducted outside regular classroom hours, CAS aims not only to prepare students academically for higher education at the highest level, but also to foster their creativity, encourage them to integrate physical activity into their daily lives, and engage them in developing and participating in projects that address local and global challenges. Through these experiences, students cultivate a strong sense of social responsibility and civic engagement.
Extended Essay (EE)
The Extended Essay is an in-depth, independent research paper written on a topic chosen by the student.
Through the Extended Essay, students develop the academic research and writing skills required for university-level study. It enables them to demonstrate the attributes of the IB Learner Profile acquired throughout their IB education, while becoming familiar with the language, scope, and disciplinary approaches characteristic of the academic world.
