The Nuriye Güneyi Natural Sciences Award was established by Prof. Dr. Celâl Şengör, an alumnus of Işık Schools (1966–1969), in honor of Nuriye Güneyi, the teacher who inspired his passion for geology and guided his early steps toward becoming one of Turkey’s leading scientists. Created to commemorate Nuriye Güneyi, who taught at Işık High School between 1967 and 1979, this year’s award has been presented to Azra İnci Özkan, an 11th grade student at FMV Işık High School. We congratulate our student, who impressed the jury with her outstanding performance, and extend our thanks to her family and teachers for their support and guidance.
