Visit to Şerefiye Cistern and Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum
On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, the Social Sciences Department of our school organized a trip to the Şerefiye Cistern and the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum.
As part of their history course, our 10th-grade students first toured the Şerefiye Cistern, a structure from the Byzantine era. They had the opportunity to examine the aesthetic and architectural details of this historic site while enjoying its impressive light shows, thereby enhancing their historical knowledge.
Following this, they visited the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum, which consists of 17 sections. Here, they had the chance to closely observe many valuable artifacts, such as carpets, manuscripts, miniatures, and rare copies of the Quran, representing Islamic and Turkish-Islamic states.
This meaningful trip to the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum provided our students with an unforgettable experience, blending history and art.
